How do I prevent my persian cats hair from falling out so much?
Keep in mind that cats shed most in spring and fall. They can also shed when they get scared or upset. All cats are going to shed some, and Persians seem to shed more because of the long hair. I use a metal dog comb to make sure I get all the way down to the skin and comb twice a day. Brigit stands on the comb to remind me she needs to be combed — also means she gets a treat. I tell her how pretty she is and she just loves it. You can also wet your hands and pet her to get rid of lots of loose hair. If she is shedding excessively it could be a dietary issue, too.
