How do I prevent a high level mic signal from overloading the A/D inputs?
The quad mic preamp card has programmable gain, which is applied before the A/D converter. You should set the gain such that the maximum output level of the microphone will not reach +20dB, even if someone is singing very close to the microphone. This setting forms part of your presets, so you can have different settings for different microphone types or even different types of event.
