How do I prepare exterior concrete floors for painting with Durable Colors ?
Remove all mildew, dirt or stains from the surface. Pressure wash to surface if possible to remove all soiled areas. The paint will last longer on a clean, dry surface. Allow the freshly washed concrete to dry for a few days. If the weather is wet, it may take longer. Also make sure the weather forecast indicates no rain for 24 to 30 hours after painting. This will allow the paint to cure properly. A large tarp or plastic can be laid over the surface if morning dew is heavy in your area. Be sure to remove the tarp when the sun comes out so the concrete will not sweat.
