The CD-R or CD-RW media must be formatted with the DirectCD format utility before data can be written to it. CD-R media can be only formatted once and written to during one session, since the media is designed to be written to only once. Note: If the CD-R or CD-RW is not formatted, and you attempt to write to the media through DirectCD, the following message may appear: “E: is not accessible. Incorrect Function” (where E is the drive letter of your CD-RW drive). Use the following steps to format the media with DirectCD.
