There’s no reason to train her on the pads unless that’s where you want her to go ALL the time. If you want her to go outside, train her to go outside. First, don’t scold her. What you need to do is take her out every hour. Do not free feed her. She needs to be feed 3 times a day, and given water at that same time. Take her out right after she’s feed. If she doesn’t go, PAY ATTENTION to her. You will see her circling and sniffing. She shouldn’t be out of your sights at all anyways unitl she’s fully house trained. If you catch her peeing/pooping, do not scold her. make a loud noise, and take her outside. Praise when she’s gone outside. Take her out to go every hour. Also, right when she wakes up, and just before bed. If every time you go out with her and say “go potty” or something similar just when she’s squatting, she’ll soon learn what it means, and then go on command. This takes practice, and you HAVE to be consistent. Always praise when she does something good!

While fresh drinking water should be available at all times, you may want to time a very young puppy’s drinks to just prior to his scheduled hourly potty breaks. Second, until he is trained keep a constant eye on your puppy. During housetraining, the only time your puppy should have the run of the house is when you are there to watch him. Third, is to crate-train your puppy. Puppies instinctively want to keep their sleeping space clean. Make the crate a happy place for your puppy. Encourage him to go into the crate by tossing a toy or kibble of food inside while
