How do I place orders with thinkorswim?
Although we offer free use of our institutional trade desk for order entry from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm CST, 99% of all orders are placed using thinkorswim’s software based trading application. Once you have opened an account with us you can download our software. The software can be installed on any computer or multiple computers and is used to monitor quotes, perform market analysis, view your positions, or execute trades. \nSimilar to browser-based applications you must be connected to the Internet in order to receive quotes, view real-time positions, or execute trades. Simply connect to the Internet as normal and then start the thinkorswim application. thinkorswim’s order entry is a stand-alone application that is downloaded from our website to the customer’s PC. Markets are accessed utilizing the customer’s ISP to our servers- thinkorswim will do the rest.
