How do I perform a disk diffusion test on N. gonorrhoeae?

A. Neisseria gonorrhoeae is to be tested on GC Agar Base with Supplements according to CLSI guidelines (ref: Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Disk Susceptibility Test, M2-A. Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI – formerly NCCLS), Villanova, PA). Use N. gonorrhoeae ATCC® 49226 for QC. The use of Mueller Hinton with Chocolate plates for Haemophilus or GC is now discouraged in favor of these two new types of media. Refer to CLSI publication M2-A10 and M100-S19.
