How do I pay a citation (ticket) issued by the Ocilla Police Department?
A. When the Ocilla Police Department issues a traffic citation, there are several ways of resolving the citation. If the person who received the citation does not wish to contest the citation, then a cash bond may be mailed to the Ocilla Municipal Court at 111 North Irwin Ave. The cash bond must be received on or before the assigned court date. If the cash bond is received on or before the assigned court date on the citation, no further action on the citation is necessary. If the person receiving the citation desires to contest the citation or discuss the matter with the judge, they must appear on the assigned court date. If the citation is not paid on or before the assigned court date, and the person fails to appear in court, then the court will report the failure to appear to the state issuing the driver’s license or a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest. If this notice is sent to the state, a person’s driver’s license or privilege to drive in this state could be suspended.
