How do i paint over dark stained kitchen cupboards?
Remove all the doors and the hardware. Wash the doors with TSP (Tri-sodium Phosphate) or anything with a good grease cutter. Rinse well and dry. Give them a coat pf primer. Don’t skimp on this. Ask at your paint store what’s best for this job. If you want a very smooth finish I recommend spraying the paint on. (You can rent a sprayer and line them up outside to paint them) Latex paint has come a long way and is very durable. Use either a semi gloss or a gloss for cleaning ease. I would also suggest you stay away from painting them very bright white. Go for an off white, cream or sand color. It’s much more soothing.
