How do i paint a metal fence?
Wash the metal fence using a pressure washer. Allow the fence to dry out completely before beginning the application process. Scrape off loose rust using a wire brush. Apply a coat of red oxide primer to the rusted areas using a paintbrush manufactured for oil-based paints. Allow the primer to dry for two hours. Clean the brush with minerals spirits.Apply a coat of galvanized metal etching primer to the fence using the cleaned paintbrush. Allow the etching primer to dry and cure for 4 hours. Clean the brush with mineral spirits.Apply a coat of oil-based paint to the primed metal fence using the cleaned paintbrush.
