How do I overcome my fear of roller coasters?
Firstly, just because something is psychological does NOT mean you can overcome it. That is not to say that you can’t overcome your fear but a psychological problems can debilitate people. Since your phobia is not having a major impact on your life nor is it really even part of your life something like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is probably a bit extreme, time consuming, and costly. But you can try to do it on your own. To get over a phobia requires exposure therapy which may be part of medical treatment but it is also something people can do without expertise. Basically it is desensitization to anxiety. Here is how anxiety works with a phobia- my example is an elevator. Most people who are afraid avoid an elevator, however if a person works in a very tall building they might have no other option. What typically happens is this person gets in and their anxiety goes up and up the entire time and once the doors open at their floor they run out and the anxiety is better. The prob
