How do I order BNSF equipment if I am located on a shortline or other Class I railroad?
Our plan is for the customer to continue to request equipment through their serving rail carrier contact as today, except utilizing the LOGS Equipment Request Form. This form will specify the fact that a LOG equipment request is being made and provide the LOG permit number to the serving rail carrier. LOGS obligation is considered satisfied upon the offer of equipment to the serving rail carrier or shortline by BNSF. Please note: LOGS Refrigerated boxcar equipment may only be ordered by customers located on BNSF or affiliated shortlines. Customers located on other Class 1 railroads are not eligible to order LOGS equipment, however standard ordering options are available.
