How do I open/edit/print documents created in Microsoft Office 2007 products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)?

The public word processing stations at the Library have Microsoft Office 2000 products installed. The MS Office Compatibility Package has been installed on all public stations to allow access to documents created in MS 2007 products usually found on machines with the new Vista operating system. There are limitations to this patch. Documents may be read (opened) and printed, but even if users are able to open the documents in 2000 they most likely wont be able to edit them if they contain any of the new features (themes, fonts, graphics, charts, XML, citations, etc.) of the 2007 version. In order to be able to edit documents using the Office products at the Library the documents need to be saved in a format that is readable in versions 97-2000, usually an RTF format in Word.
