How do I obtain permission to reprint a Post-Standard story?
Before reprinting anything from The Post-Standard, you must first obtain permission because U.S. copyright law protects all material in The Post-Standard. The Post-Standard cannot grant reprint permission for news service stories, stories from other newspapers or syndicated material, which it buys for one-time use from others. It can, however, grant reprint permission for stories created by its staff and its freelancers. Those stories can be easily identified because they nearly always carry the name of the author and the title “staff writer” or “contributing writer.” To obtain permission for hard-copy reprints, send your request in writing to Timothy D.
