How do I obtain an order of protection or restraining order against another person?
A person may file a petition with a magistrate, justice of the peace or superior court judge for an order of protection or restraining order. The petition must state the name of the plaintiff, name and address of the defendant, if known, specific statements of alleged incidents, relationship between the parties, and desired relief. A filing fee may be required.
