Peace Bond In order to obtain a Peace Bond, you must call the Police and file a complaint. A Police Officer will then take a statement from you. An application or Report to Crown Counsel (RTCC) is then written and forwarded to Crown Council for approval. Once approved, you and the defendant are asked to enter into a Peace Bond. If either of you do not agree to the Peace Bond, a subpoena and/or summons is issued to you for a court hearing on the matter. The conditions of the peace bond will not take effect until the court dispute has been resolved. A Peace Bond lasts up to one year. There is no fee to apply for a peace bond. Restraining Order In order to enact a Restraining order, you must make an application to Family Court.
