How do I Network a Windows Xp Server to a Linux Ubuntu workstation?

Hi Mandy S, There’s no any Server version of XP, only 2000 has server version. 2003 and 2008 are server version. Configure network on XP and Win2003 is totally different. Suppose you’re using XP Pro SP2 edition, XP is files share server, disable the simply file share in Windows Explorer/option/ /folder option/view Try log on it from Ubuntu, provide the username, this user name must be created in XP server and also has the right to access the folder which you have share. provide the domain, because you can’t make XP as a domain controller, so provide the work group(default is WORKGROUP in XP SP2) , provide the password. Of course your XP is using TCP/IP protocol, right? It does work, I have already tested and succeed. Good Luck!
