How do I negotiate discount cruise travel deals?
Cruise lines don’t barter. If you want to stay in nicer accommodations you will have to pay for them. And I don’t know if you are looking to stay in the $5000 a week suite, but only pay $700 for it. Sometimes you can purchase upgrades at the pier (based on the prevailing rates). What some people do is book what is known as Guarantee Cabins. What that is, is you book a certain type of cabin, inside, outside, balcony. But you don’t know what stateroom you will get until right before sailing. So you will get the minimum category cabin in that class. But you could also get a higher class cabin. It’s sort of a lottery/gamble type situation Not every cruise line offers this. I’ve seen Carnival do deals, where you book and then get a free two category upgrade.
