The BACKUP feature will transfer files from the cameras internal memory to an xD-Picture Card flash memory card (sold separately). It does not delete those files from the internal memory. To perform a backup, insert an xD-Picture Card flash memory card into the camera and then turn the camera on. With the mode dial set to any shooting mode except GUIDE, press the MENU button. Use the arrow pad to select SETUP, and then press the OK/FUNC button. Use the Up or Down arrow to select BACKUP. Press the Right arrow to advance to the next menu. Use the Up or Down arrow to select YES. Press the OK/FUNC button to start the file transfer. When it completes, press OK/FUNC again to exit the menus. It is recommended that you fully charge your batteries before performing a backup. Note: It is not possible to copy images from a memory card to the internal memory.
