How do I mount wood fence panels between posts?
Preparing Posts and PanelsPlumb the posts of the fence, backfill the holes with concrete and let the concrete set. Meanwhile, construct the panels so that they fit between each pair of posts. Construct the panels on a frame so that the sides of the frame will fit tightly against the posts when the panels are in place.Attaching PanelsAttach a small length of scrap lumber to the bottom of the higher of a pair of posts to act as a brace for the panel frame. Set the brace high enough on the post so that the bottom of the panel is about 4 inches above the ground. Use a string level to mark the position on the opposite post that is at the same level as the top of the brace, and attach another brace to that post with the top on the mark. Set the panel on the braces, verify it is level and screw it to the posts.
