How do I modify the SNMP service in Windows NT for the PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller?
After you install and configure the SNMP service, perform the following steps: • Make sure you have the trap destination address set to that of the SNMP Trap Receiver Station. • Copy the percsnmp.dll file to the \winnt35\system32 directory. • From MS-DOS prompt, run regedt32. • Find the KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE —> SOFTWARE —> Microsoft section in the registry file and add the following using the Add_Key option in the Edit menu: Key Name = ami Class = REG_SZ • Click AMI. • In the empty right window, press and add the following: Value Name = Pathname Data Type = REG_EXPAND_SZ String = %SystemRoot%\System32\percsnmp.dll • Find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE –> SYSTEM —> CurrentControlSet —> Services —> SNMP —> Parameters —> ExtensionAgents section of the registry file. • In the right window, press and add the following: Value Name = 3 Data Type = REG_SZ String = SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ami These additions link the new extension agent to the percsnmp.dll entry.
