The following assumes that the goal is to install AIP licensed software that can run with either an AIS license or an AIP license. However all users have to be able to access the subscription services. • Set up a network deployments as follows: • Use either the ASI or AIP serial number that is SubAware (Subscription Aware). The choice depends on your contract with Autodesk. • Build and install AIP deployment images. • If the user runs Inventor from the AIS icon, AIS functionality is available, and the AIS license is used. It Inventor is run from the AIP icon, the full AIP functionality is available and the AIP license is used. Note that AIP autoCAD MDT will always use the AIP license. Inventor run from Explorer will also use the AIP license. • In either case, the serial number entered into the deployment image is only used for the subscription services.
