Open and log in to Windows Live Messenger. Click the “Show Menu” icon. Hover over “Tools” and click “Emoticons.” Click the “Create” button. Click “Find Image” and choose a picture from your computer. Give the emoticon a keyboard shortcut so you can type it quickly within a message. You also have the option to name it. Click “OK” to save and close the window.
