How do I make changes to a Microsoft Word document on Blackboard?

This issue specifically affects those using Internet Explorer. By default, IE opens MS Office files (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) within the browser page. When this occurs, you are able to make changes to the document, however, your changes will not be saved. The quick solution is to save the document to your computer, then open it from where you saved it. Once you have the document saved and opened on your local computer, you can make your changes to the document then resave it to your computer. After your changes are saved, go back to Blackboard and remove the old document and add the document with the changes from your computer to Blackboard: • Click Modify from the drop down menu of an Item. • Click Remove next to the attached document. • Click Modify from the drop down menu of the item again. • Scroll down to #2 Content and click Browse. Locate the file on your computer and click Open. • Select any desired options and click Submit. Your changes will now appear on Blackboard.
