Transparency is not the default in v1.3. The choice to make it default is under the control of the user by editing the .Xdefaults file in the their home directory. Shading is not 100%. No change was made to the v1.2 of 70% A simple change from Aterm*transparent: false to Aterm*transparent: true will allow wbar to launch Aterm with transparency.
