How do I make an outside wall mural?
Your local home improvement store has a tool, (I’m sorry, but I don’t know what it is called) that is basically a string that, as it is pulled out of a spool, gets coated in charcoal. After the string is laid out and stretched taught, the string is snapped and it leaves a line of charcoal marking the location of the string. Repeated applications will result in a nice, straight series of lines for your grid. You can also just stretch our some strings and “trace” along the lines with a soft pencil to make your grid. Regular outdoor house paint will work very well. If you intend to do a greyscale drawing, just go to any paint store and get a gallon each of black and white paint. You can mix batches of greys in plastic or paper cups. You can also find these paints in smaller, quart sizes. Since you are only using two colors, you don’t have to worry about matching the manufacturers “batch” numbers.
