How do I make an adult fleece poncho?
Determine the desired length of the completed poncho and cut a rectangular piece of fleece to the desired size. Fold the material in half creating a square piece of fleece.Cut a 5 x 6 inch neck hole at one of the folded corners using sharp scissors. Cut a 4 x 4 inch square from the opposite corner and discard. Cut 5 individual 1 inch strips of material 6 inches into the open side of the fleece (across from the previously created fold) evenly spaced down the length of the side.Cut 4 inch long strips of material that are 1 inch wide around the entire length of the bottom of the poncho, creating a frayed look. Tie the individual strips of material into a knot at the top of the cut, creating a row of tied knots along the bottom of the poncho to give the poncho a finished look. Tie the five strips of cut materials on the side to create the other shoulder and side of the poncho.Source:Marcus Fabrics: No-Sew Child’s Fleece Poncho.
