At any merchant displaying any one of the symbols on the back of your card, you can “swipe” your card through the merchant’s PIN reader terminal, press the “Debit” or “ATM” button, verify the transaction amount, and then enter your PIN on the keypad. In seconds, the terminal processes the transaction, confirms that funds are available in your account, and a receipt will print. The transaction amount is automatically debited from your checking account.
