How do I make a pro hac vice application?
An attorney and counselor-at-law or the equivalent who is admitted to the bar of another state, territory, district, or foreign country may be admitted pro hac vice with respect to an appeal or proceeding pending before this court pursuant to § 520.11 of the rules of the Court of Appeals and § 670.6(e) of the rules of this court (22 NYCRR 520.11[a]; 670.6[e]). A formal motion is required. The applicant must establish that he or she is associated with a member of the New York bar who shall appear with him or her on the appeal or proceeding and shall be the person upon whom all papers must be served. The motion must also be supported by a certificate of good standing from the bar of the jurisdiction in which the applicant maintains his or her principal office for the practice of law. Consult § 670.6(e) of the rules of the court for further information (22 NYCRR 670.6[e]).
