Make a small cotton bag to microwave potatoes in. Cut two pieces of cotton fabric (do not use a cotton blend) into rectangles that measure 10 inches by 20 inches. Cut a piece of quilt batting into a 10-inch by 20-inch rectangle. Make sure that you do not use insulated batting, which has metallic threads in it. Place the batting against the wrong side of one of the pieces of cotton. Pin the other piece of cotton to the cotton and batting, putting the right sides together. Sew along three sides of the rectangle, leaving one long side open. Turn the fabric so that the right side is out. Fold the fabrics in half so that you have a 10-inch by 10-inch square. Sew the two sides together, leaving the top side open. To use the bag, wrap up to four medium size potatoes in a paper towel and place them in the bag. Microwave the potatoes according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
