How do I make a Ghost boot floppy disk for the Dell OptiPlex GX270?
Locate the DOS drivers for the Intel Gigabit NIC and make the disk normally, using the Ghost Boot Wizard. Be sure to add the -fni switch to the command line that boots Ghost in the autoexec.bat file. According to Symantec: “The -FNI switch forces Ghost to ignore direct IDE access and choose another access method.” Because the NIC is on the motherboard, it is capable of communicating directly with the hard disk, but doing so is a problem for Ghost.
