How do I locate the physical address of my ethernet card?
For Windows 95/98 PC Open the Run window. Type in “winipcfg” Click OK Select the Ethernet Adapter from the dropdown menu containing “PPP Adapter” (make sure “PPP Adapter” is NOT selected). Locate the line that reads “Adapter Address”. This is your address. For Windows 2000, XP and Vista PC Open the Run window. Type “cmd”. Click OK. At prompt type “ipconfig /all”. Press Enter key. Find your “Physical Address”. For Mac OS 9 Click on your apple in top left corner of screen. Click on “Control Panel”. Click on “Apple Talk”. Go to “Edit” menu and select “User Mode”. Select the “Advanced” radio button. Click OK. Click “info”. Locate the line that reads “Ethernet Address”. For Mac OS X Click on your apple in top left corner of screen. Click on “System Preferences”. Click on the icon labeled “Network”. Make sure TCP/IP tab is selected. Locate the line that reads “Ethernet Address”. Note: You must have a properly installed Network card in your computer to obtain an address.
