How Do I Locate The Intake Air Temperature Sensor On My Car?
The air intake sensor on all vehicles records the air temperature and the air density. When the outside air flows across the air intake sensor, the sensor records the air temperature and density and sends both readings to the car’s main computer. This allows the computer to either increase or decrease the fuel flow to the fuel injectors. The computer makes the decision based on the density of the air. Park the car on a level surface and set the parking brake. Open the hood and lock the hood in place. Take the flashlight and locate the air filter housing. The air filter housing is a square box that is located on either the driver side or the passenger side of the engine. The air filter housing also has a round plastic tube coming out of the end of the air filter housing. This round tube is the air intake tube.
