How do I load the AMS software to the Symbol 8146 Scanner?
• Place the scanner in the cradle. • As the scanner connects to active sync, right click the green Active Sync icon in the tool bar and select Explore, as shown below. • A Mobile Device window will open. Then click on My Pocket PC. • Double click on Application, as shown below. Minimize this window, as we will need it later. • Insert the AMS installation disc. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to view the files on the CD. Locate the AMS-PPC folder from the AMS-TAC CD. Right click and select Copy to copy these files to the clipboard. The contents of the AMS-PPC folder are shown below. • Next, return to the Application folder from step 4. Highlight the folder, right click, and select Paste to copy the AMS-PPC files to the Application folder. • Once the copying is complete, you’ll need to do a cold boot of the scanner. Please see the FAQ below on how to do a cold boot. This may take a few minutes. • When you have finished the cold boot, you’ll be asked to recalibrate the screen and set
