How do I learn about the CalTPA at Long Beach?
Each of the four Tasks is associated with a course (or courses) in your credential program. Faculty instruct candidates in how to complete each Task. Candidates also learn about the CalTPA in program presentations. Near the beginning of each semester, the programs offer a voluntary “Cracking the CalTPA” workshop to support candidates’ completion of Tasks. Candidates should periodically review the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) website (http://www.ctc.ca.gov/educator-prep/TPA.html) for CalTPA general information and specific information about each Task. In addition, candidates should read and periodically review the CalTPA Candidate Handbook on the CTC website. This document may be downloaded. A hard copy may be purchased at the campus bookstore.
