Good Shot on your new pet – Bull snakes are awesome- It will become a very powerful herp when full grown- Honestly, it’s probably time to upgrade him to the next size of mouse, fuzzys or “jumpers” as they are sometimes called. The mouse should be slightly larger than the girth of the snake and make a visable lump after he has eaten for at least 24-48 hours. If your Bull eats and you cant see this when looking at him, the mouse is too small – Ina pinch, feed him more of what you have (2-3 pinkies) at a time if you can’t find the next size up. Hope this helps.

The general rule is to feed your snake a meal that is as big around or just slightly bigger around then the widest part of it’s body. A lot of snakes heads are often smaller then their bodies and it may look like they can not fit a larger meal into their mouths… but believe me, they can. You may want to move your meal size up to a fuzzy mouse or even a hopper. Sometimes it is hard to find a meal that is the proper size. And in those cases it does not hurt at all to feed them more then one. Just wait until he/she has finished with the first mouse and then offer another.
