How do i know what motherboard to upgrade to?
Ok what you need to realise that these things all are linked together, the new parts must be compatible with the old parts. if you wanna upgrade your PC upgrading the motherboard is usually a bad choice since most of the time you will have to upgrade memory/cpu as well since the CPU has a socket “this can be socket a, socket 775, 939 etc there are L O T S! ” memory can be ddr sd, ddr2 etc also the mainboard has little to no impact on performance it is simply a bridge between the other components, memory/cpu/harddrive/video card. If you are looking to improve performance the 2 main things to look at (unless you are looking at playing games which i assume you are not with a system that age) is CPU and Memory. so find out EXACTLY what mother board you have, should be a serial number on it, google that and find out from the manufactors documentation what the best upgrades it can support are, then go to ebay and see what the price are for those components. Honestly tho i dont think you will
