How do I know what addresses to place in the Always Accept from Specified Senders list if I do not know what the SBC Block List mailers are?
SBC Internet Services has been using this list for quite some time. It is safe to say that the mailers of moderately to major sized e-mail entities will not end up on this list, as their mailers, like SBC’s, are protected from open relay. A mailer will likely be placed on this list due to inexperience of the e-mail support team, or the fact that they exist to send spam. It is easy to be removed from the list if you close the open relay status of your mailer. But if you are not getting mail from someone, it is a good idea to place their address in the ‘Always Accept from Specified Senders’ list.
