How do I know Too Good for Drugs & Violence – High School is effective?
Each year for the past 20 years, independent evaluation has proven the Mendez programs successful in the public schools in Tampa, Florida. We provide a pre- and post-surveys to enable teachers to measure students’ change in attitudes, skills and beliefs. The survey consists of questions linked to program objectives. Too Good for Drugs (K-12) has also been recognized as a Model Program by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. It has been proven to reduce students’ intentions to: smoke cigarettes by 46%, drink alcohol by 51%, smoke marijuana by 44%, and engage in aggressive behavior by 46%.
