How do I know that the valuations provided come from an independent source?

All of our rings are valued by a member of the Australian National Council of Jewelry Valuers (NCJV). All members of the NCJV must undergo accredited training courses and must continue ongoing education to maintain their membership. If you are concerned about your valuation, the details of the particular member will be displayed on your valuaiton certificate and you can contact the NCJV to discuss the matter if necessary.
