The best way to test a screen to see if the backlight tube inside is burnt out, is to plug in a test screen to the inverter. If your laptop lights the backlight on a test screen, you can be pretty sure that the problem is with your screen. Remember, there are 5 different reasons why a backlight is not working. 1. Defective backlight tube in screen. 2. Defective cable connecting system board to inverter. 3. Defective cable connecting inverter to screen/backlight assy. 4. Power problems. No power to FL inverter. 5. Bad FL inverter. We can usually diagnose and repair all of these problems listed above.
