How do I know that all possible student responses are considered when a question is scored with an Item Specific Rubric?
All Item Specific Rubrics for all constructed-response questions go through a rangefinding process before the student response papers are scored. Rangefinding is a process that is used to select student response papers at each rubric score point for questions that have been field tested. The selected student response papers are then used to train the scorers to ensure consistency in the scoring process. These selected papers represent the range within each score point.
