There are a number of ways that you check this. You can ask what Professional bodies that the Personal Trainer is a member of. Two of the most professional bodies are the National Register of Personal Trainers and The Register of Exercise Professionals in which you can contact both bodies and check membership numbers should you want to. (Please see appropriate links on the Links page of this site.). You can also ask to see a Personal Trainers Portfolio which may contain certificates of qualifications and ongoing education, along with current CPR/First Aid and Public Liability Indemnity Insurance Certificate/s. You can also request previous or existing client contact information in order to speak with them directly for a reference on your chosen prospective Personal Trainer of choice.
