Your Avira AntiVir is up to date if you have the current Virus Definition File (VDF). There are two methods to check if you already have the latest version of the VDF: Please follow the instructions on how to check for latest updates, if you see the message “Your program is up to date” then your VDF is up to date. Compare your current VDF version (see how do I find my virus definition file version) against Avira VDF QA Realtime Status web site. If the latest version on the Avira website, shown at the top of the list, matches your version then your VDF is up to date.
