How do I know if my notebooks and PDA will work with the EthIR LAN system and what other devices does it support?
If you’re notebook has infrared hardware and is able to run Windows 95/98/2000/XP and has Microsoft’s IrDA drivers installed then it will be supported by the EthIR LAN system. If Windows 95 then support is at least a base of 115Kbps speed (SIR), if Windows 98 or later then 4Mbps (FIR) is most circumstances. Other devices supported include Windows CE (v. 2.0+) handheld, PocketPC and palm-size devices, Apple PowerBooks, and PalmOS devices (v. 3.3+) Of course, support will always depend on whether or not your device has an infrared port and IrDA compliant hardware and drivers.
