How do I know if my dog has an eye infection, and treatments?
My dog just got over an eye infection. It was due to a scratch on his eye. He actually had a green mucus dripping from the corner of his eye. I called the vet and they told me to rinse it with lukewarm water and use a cloth to clean around the eye. Never rub over the eye, because if there is a foreign object in it it could make the situation worse. When you get to the vet they should put a drop in his eye that will make a scratch glow under a black light. This will determine whether or not it has been scratched or is just irritated by allergies. The reason they have to do this test is because the drops that they will have you give your dog are different based on what the problem is.
