How do i know if i have tinted glass?
There are primarily TWO kinds of tinted windows: EXTERIOR TINT: Many older windows were treated with an exterior FILM or LIQUID COATING. Most of these coatings were after-market products. Most were guaranteed for a limited time, such as 3-4 years. Our decals should NOT be placed directly on THESE EXTERIOR COATINGS! If our decal is placed on such tinting products, our decal may in some instances accelerate the inevitable flaking and chipping of these tinting products. INTERIOR TINT: Today, after-market tinting products are most often applied to the INTERIOR side of glass. This protects the coating from degradation due to inclement weather, direct exposure to sun, etc. Because our decals should be applied to the EXTERIOR side of the glass, our decal touches only GLASS (not the tint coating) and there is no risk of damage.
