How do i know if i have liver damage?
It takes blood tests by the doctor to know for sure. He can check your “liver enzymes” which will show if there is damage to the cells of the liver and the” liver function tests” that will show how the cells of the liver are functioning to do the job they need to to keep the body healthy. He may do “viral testing” also to see if the cause is a virus. Many people are walking around with liver problems and don’t even know it. The liver is very quiet about damage done to it. That is until the cells of the liver become so damaged that they start to die off and then the symptoms start to appear cause the cells cannot do the functions to keep the body healthy. Here are some things then to look for: Extreme tiredness, possible flu like symptoms, yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin known as Jaundice. These are the very first indications.
