How do I know if an internship will meet the Jl MC 499 requirement?
The Greenlee School makes no guarantees about an internship meeting the Jl MC 499 requirement until it has gone through the entire Jl MC 499 approval process. However, there are some general guidelines that you can use to guide your internship search: • The internship must provide you with a minimum of 400 hours of work. • The internship must help you learn skills and concepts that will prepare you for a successful career in journalism and communication or advertising. • An individual with education and/or significant professional experience in journalism and communication, advertising or a closely related field must supervise you. • Your supervisor must have experience in the area in which you will be working. He/she should serve as a mentor and teacher to you instead of a boss. • Your direct supervisor must work on site, must be an employee of the organization where you are completing the internship and cannot be related to you. • Your internship must take place in a professional env
