How do I know if an en-route transportation other than commercial air or government transportation is okay to use?
There are several factors that might help you answer this question. Your DTS business rules should include information concerning when a private or rental vehicle (or commercial rail) should be considered the ‘normal’ transportation mode. Also, if the traveler is transporting additional equipment or other travelers on their trip, it may be in the government’s best interest to not require travel by commercial air.
